Out of Eden "Lookin For Love"

lookin for love, lookin for love,
lookin for, lookin for, lookin for love(2x)

your heart is broken
and ur wondering
what u can do to ease the hurt and pain u feel
ur letting these no ones
get in closer
than they need to cuz ur lookin for love
wo, oh i'va got a feelin
that no one's told u
no one's bothered at all to give u what u need
so ur out searchin
for someone to hold on to
but u don't know it's right here
if u'd only see

CHORUS:
lookin for love in all the wrong places
just to find someone who can erase
the hurt and if u could u'r get a potion
the love i've got is deeper than an ocean
lookin for love u know that i can show u
cuz what i've found goes on and on and on
and u never hafta worry about it bein gone

ur on ur own now, doin ur own thing
say u don't need nobody's help to make it through
(but ur really waistin ur time) ur still lonely
(and u know that ur gonna find)
that ur only left more empty then u were b4
oh but i'm tellin u
u don't hafta look around
let me tell u bout the love that i have found
everything that ur heart needs,
it's just right here, right here waitin
no u don't hafta look no more
real love is knockin on ur door
everything that ur soul needs
it's just right here,
right here waitin for u

(repeat CHORUS)

RAP
now there's puppy love and crushes,
such as girls meets boy
goin out and do u like me
checkin yes or no
well i wuz lookin for love in the deepest of all places
when i found it on a 2-way street
lifted in spaces
the status of a broken heart
eternity while the phony1
love is blind, I'm fallin it while i'm bumin into hurdles
since i got most all love and we can feel it in this presence
i got it closer than close,
why try to reach it long distance

o my friend i'm tellin u
i've been there myself a time or 2
when i wuz just runnin round
to find peace for my heart
when it's been broken down
there's somthing that u need to see
this1 who made u
loves u pleez believe
it's all u need to get by,
and now ur somebody
so just tell me why ur..........

(repeat chorus 2x)

lookin for love, lookin for love
,lookin for, lookin for, lookin for love(2x)

I'll just say that there is nothing like being with Jesus, and in fellowship with Him and believers. There is no peace without Him.

Quote

Here is a great quote from Henri Nouwen.

Only by denying the world can you live in it, that only by surrounding youself by artificial, self-induced quietude can you live in a spiritual life. A real spiritual life does exactly the opposite: it makes us so alert and aware of the wold around us, that all that is and happens becomes part of our contemplation and meditation and invites us to a free and fearless response.

Unfortunately most Christians are more part of the former type of spiritual life than the latter.

Another Misconception

Misconception...Homosexuals are defined by their behavior or a Homosexual can not be a Christian
Truth...Homosexuals are defined by their sexual orientation, not their behavior. It is obvious that most homosexuals practice homosexual sex. However if I went out and had sex with another man that would not automatically make me a homosexual. If I wanted to know whether or not I was a homosexual I would simply have to answer one question. Who do I get aroused by, men or women? For me this is obvious, I am definitely a heterosexual. Does this automatically make me not a sinner? Of course not. It is the same for both the Heterosexual as well as the Homosexual: sin does not occur unless an act occurs; therefore a homosexual is not automatically a sinner.
In fact any homosexual can repent their actions, receive Christ and still be a Homosexual. Granted, God can also heal their orientation to make them a Heterosexual. Thanks Joni for pointing that out. However let's not forget that everyone's faith in Christ is not at the same level, and for some reason or another God may choose not to heal him or her in that way, or even right away. True people need to make judgments every day, and it is not the same as condemnation, however Christians need to learn to stop making hasty generalizations, which may hurt their ministry.
As to my vocabulary issues, though it started out as derogatory, many homosexuals have been proud to be referred to as Queer and even prefer the term. Have you herd of the show "Queer Eye for a Straight Guy?" Who knows, perhaps my use of the vocabulary was somewhat premature, or perhaps not.

Misconceptions about the Queer

Misconception...All homosexuals choose to be homosexuals.
Truth...not all homosexuals choose to be homosexuals. In fact most of them would love not to be do to cultural pressures. Even more there have been a few scientific studies supporting that gays are often born homosexuals because the mother's immune system attacked them because of a certain blood type and yadda yadda yadda happens (I don't know the whole process). Donald Joy, a Christian author gives a much better explanation in his book called "Bonding". I would also assume that most lesbians cannot help their feelings either but I don't think as much research has been done on the female side of the equation.
Misconception...All homosexuals will go to hell
Truth...just because someone is queer doesn't mean they choose to live a homosexual lifestyle. There are many Christians who are queer and keep each other accountable and don't commit acts of homosexuality. Tony Campolo addresses this in his "20 Hot Potatoes" book. The fact that they may not truly experience love in the same way as married couples is sad.
There is a recent article in the newspaper that mentioned a certain group of Christians who, in response to a statement from a gay church "does God discriminate [against homosexuals]?" stated that "God discriminated at Sodom" a biblical city, and possibly a historical city where God wiped out its entire inhabitants. The common misconception is that God destroyed the city because it was filled with wicked homosexuals. However the scripture does not give that as the cause. In the NIV God states the cause as "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous" and in The Message it is "The cries of the victims in Sodom and Gomorrah are deafening; the sin of those cities is immense." The truth is that God didn't discriminate; Because of the inclusiveness of the statement in the scripture it cannot be safely assumed that there is only one sin present. Therefore He killed all of the wicked no matter what the type of sin. Before revising the scripture Genesis 18:20, my argument was going to be that it was an act of God, and only God can make such judgments. On the other hand, the place of Christians in this world is summed up in The Great Commission (Matthew 28), which does not mention any kind of judgment, but rather a reaching out to make disciples and restore the world through the healing power of Jesus Christ.

Good Things I Think

As we met today at the Dilbones' God came among us and we ate and talked and shared and prayed. The Dilbones were all in good spirit and we all knew in our hearts that it is only an allergy. Of course they go in to see the doc tommorrow and recieve the diagnosis. For me, I know what it is, it is just allergies.

You know what's funny? God is so comical. He broke my shower knob...on purpose! Am I that insensitive? Anyways I guess that's what He had to do to get my attention. God is so good though, that He wants to talk to me. Me? I still got to take a shower, but only after time spent together. I felt rushed later to get things done, and then He told me that it didn't matter. That I don't have to perform.

Pray For My Little Sister Macee

Some friends of mine have a daughter who may or may not have Lupus, they are currently waiting on a diagnosis. Truth is, the wife is having a hard time giving it over to the Lord, and I would understand why, so pray for her. Lupus looks like a rash that forms symetricly over the face and sometimes appears over the whole body, but it's much deeper than that. It's an auto-immune dissorder where the body's antibodies attack its own cells, and can cause problems with the body's various tissues, organs, and blood. Full Definition. I have complete faith that they will give it over to the Lord God Almighty. And even if she is diagnosed with this desease, and even if God chose not to heal her, their daughter might know pain and hard times, but she would also know that great love of her parents, extended family, and the Church; that she is nothing but loved; and through that love she would grow up knowing without a doubt that God does love her no matter what; parents are a child's first impression of God. I am even convinced that the love of our church is so strong, and her parents even more, that even upon diagnosis, if we cry out to God as true family, than His heart will be touched as it already is and has been. He has already answered prayer so many times in the life of their small family. Please be praying for the Dilbones, Sarah and Chris and their daughter Macee. They are having very troubled times, and a lot of troubles have come accross their path lately. I am so glad that we are not without hope and that God is El Shaddai and Yahweh Shalom.

Me and JT

Yah i'm definatly using the clear elmers glue next time. It took twenty minutes longer to wash out this time. The dye didn't stick though. JT and I didn't really build any relationships, but we're not regulars either. I want to go next wed, but I don't have anyone to go with. Anyways this is really funny. Have fun.

Goth Night

Justin and I are going downtown to skybar for Goth night. I've spiked my hair with my favorit formula: elmers glue + red food dye + my my hair. It has an excellant hold (stiff actually) and stays in for two days without a shower. It comes out easy with a wash, but this time I'm afraid the food dye might stay even after a wash. All the other times I used the cheap egg dye. The food coloring left stain marks on my hands. Oh well, I'm a red head anyways.

review: june 28th
Perhaps my emotions have got the better of me. However the purpose of my June 28th post was not to speak against or to the people who worship in an institution. Instead I was concerned about some of my previous posts drawing wavering Christians out of worship and fellowship altogether. Therefore I proposed an alternative perspective for these Christians or even preChristians. In order to refine the previous blog I suggest people consider the "Bear Necessities" of the Church as Jesus instituted it:

  1. Fellowship-this includes relationships and the Holy Spirit with freedom in the Spirit among at least two believers
  2. The two sacraments commanded by Jesus-The Lords Supper and Baptism
  3. The Word of God-the movement and leading of the body of believers is to be tested against the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Though there is much debate about certain parts of the Bible, the whole of it if not the vast majority can be seen as God Breathed and giving a unified and universal message about the relationship between God and the human race.
  4. The making of Disciples

These can be found in scripture like matt 28:18, the Acts 2:32 passage, and are reflected in all parts of the Bible from Genesis to revelation.
